Cow N Potato Food Bar sits in a busy strip of Albert Street North, offering a casual, no-frills spot to grab classic comfort food with a local twist. This place feels like a straightforward neighborhood eatery that caters well to students and workers looking for a quick, filling meal without fuss. The atmosphere is lively but informal—think quick service counter vibes, with plenty of familiar faces dropping in through the day.

The menu centers on hearty North American staples like cheeseburgers, chicken tenders, and fish and chips, with a particular focus on snacking-friendly options such as nacho fries and poutine served in a few variations. The smash-style burgers here tend to be juicy and satisfying if you want something straightforward, and sides like fries and poutine provide classic comfort. While the burgers draw mixed opinions about their simplicity, many appreciate the generous portion sizes and a taste that leans toward nostalgic rather than fancy.

Among locals, Cow N Potato works especially well as a lunch stop for anyone near the University of Regina or people working around the area who appreciate the quick turnaround and friendly service. The staff are commonly noted for remembering repeat customers, which adds a touch of neighborhood familiarity to the stop-in experience. On the flip side, some have noticed recent price hikes that might edge out budget-conscious visitors, particularly students.

This food bar feels most welcoming during midday hours when it buzzes with a mix of students, local workers, and families picking up straightforward, no-pretenses meals. The quick in-and-out setup also suits road trippers or anyone passing through Regina in need of a break from more conventional fast food chains. It’s not a place for slow dining or gourmet meals, but rather a reliable option when comfort food and speed matter.

I miss A&W... I ordered the cheeseburger and a poutine. Our granddaughter ordered the chicken fingers. Personally, the burger was just a premade patty on a white bun, nothing more. Reminded me of a company BBQ in the park. Nothing special. Not great, but not bad. The poutine was ok, but you can't get a great poutine outside of Quebec. Our granddaughter liked the chicken fingers. Again, nothing to write home about, but they were hot and the coating was tasty, like peppery. The service was fine, but I was surprised that there was no Diet Pepsi; so was the cahier after telling me that had some twice...

We were passing through on our Westcoast road trip. Got tired of eating fish and bagels.....took a chance with a different halal joint. We were all very pleased. The kids rated it a 10, but I explained I can only choose 5 stars. The burgers were juicy and yummy. We got a cheeseburger, chicken tenders, fries and poutine with a bonus drink which was nice. My husband and son went in to pick it up and were very happy with polite and excellent customer service. While eating and on the road, the kids asked, "can we stop here on the way back home". Unfortunately we are taking a different route home, or this would have been a go to on the way home as well. Wishing you folks loads of success. Thank you for giving us a change for food options and providing excellent customer service.

I often visit Cow n Potato during my lunch breaks and it’s always great. My favorite is the Habanero chicken burger with nacho fries. Recently tried the Indie Paneer burger on Sania’s recommendation and loved it. She’s very sweet, remembers regular customers, and always makes sure you leave satisfied. Great food and great service by her!

I really enjoy their food and I go anytime I’m at school for lunch when I can. Although recently they changed the prices of the food and it seems as if it became quite expensive and while I do really enjoy their food it might limit me from going there as the prices are being raised a little too much. (Burger combo used to be 13.97 when I would get mayo on the side and the student discount, now I pay 15.00 exactly for just a combo which for some may not seem to different but for a high school student it can be quite a difference in the long run)

Stopped by Cow N Potato in Regina and was really impressed! I ordered the classic poutine and it was absolutely delicious — perfect gravy, crispy fries, and fresh cheese curds that melted just right. The portion was generous and very satisfying. The staff were super friendly and made me feel welcome right away. You can tell they care about their food and their customers. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more from their menu!
